For our gift to Brayden, we decided a long time ago that we were going to finally convert our spare room into a play/game/media room for Brayden.  He doesn't play with many toys, he's more into movies, the Wii, and PS3, so we decided to take our TV from our bedroom and mount it in the spare room along with all the game systems and make a place for him (and us) to lounge around in.

Since living here, we were "saving" the room in hopes to have a second baby occupying it... however that's not happened yet, so I'm hoping that now that we have nowhere for a baby, it will happen. ;)  That's how things always seem to work.  

Anyways, on Saturday we ventured out to finish up most of our shopping.  Big mistake. Target was packed... had to wait for a cart.  Toys R Us.. was insane.  But we got the most part done.  Just a few gift cards and easy gifts to pick up... and some that should be arriving in the mail.. I love online shopping.  Makes it SO much easier.

So anyways.. Sunday night I painted one large wall in the spare room a really dark grey.. I was afraid it'd be too dark, but I LOVE it.  It was dark by the time I was done and the room is locked up for now, but I snapped a few pics before BB got home from his dads.

 

We got these grey corduroy covered chairs from walmart for $34 each.. they are SOOO comfy... The pillows are from IKEA.. We've been collecting things for the last couple of months..

A Christmas gift we picked up at IKEA in Ft. Worth a couple of months ago.. He LOVES to cook...

 

We also got the easel and white expedit shelf while in Houston last month..

 

I'll post some full photos once its all cleaned up and arranged.. We also have a large red shelf in there from IKEA that we got last year that used to be in our living room, and a red desk that was in Brayden's room.

All products came from the December Studio Calico kit..  Love that cuckoo clock stamp so much.  It should be available in the shop in February, I think (?).

This one was created using all products from GCD Studios.  I love the bright mix of papers in these collections..and the glitter alphas.. love them!
 
 
 

another sneak!

This may have become another favorite.. I rarely EVER stamp, however I couldn't pass up using the fab stamps in the kit... AND I hand journaled.  Haven't done that in FOREVER.. eek!  But I like the outcome..

So here it is.. or should I say, here's a sneak of it! :)

our tree is finally up.

 

Took long enough!  It's hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner.  It sneaks up so FAST!  We normally put the tree up immediately after Thanksgiving, but with a baby shower at our house, and then BB being sick last weekend, it just kept getting put off, so we let him stay up late last night and we put it up after riding with T to look at at job in Baton Rouge.

Of course, we made a stop at Starbuck's on the way home for hot chocolate... peppermint hot chocolate for me.  I love how tiny that kids' cup is... 

  

Brayden decided that we had to put ALL of the ornaments on the tree this year.  We have lots of extras, so I was trying to get him to only put the "special" ones up, but he insisted that they all go up.. so our tree is rather.. FULL.  Next year, we'll need a bigger one, I think.  Last year our tree seemed plenty big enough, but looking at it now, and how our furniture is arranged, we definitely need a bigger one.. especially to hold all the ornaments.

 

It was really dark, so I didn't get many good pics, but this one is one of my faves.. love that dimple.

whodunit sneaks!

I cannot express how thrilled I am to have been able to work with this kit!  It has been fun.. 

So far I've got three layouts, a card, and a mini in the works..and hoping to crank out a couple more before reveal...

tonight.

-Brayden was talking to himself in the bathtub and told Travis when he walked in to check on him, "I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to myself."  The kid cracks me up.

-We watched this movie while BB was at his dad's.  Hilarious.  I cried laughing so hard.  The wolf pack speech.. soooo funny.

 

-I indulged in my favorite ice cream, while "working" at BOTH computers..butter pecan.  yum.  

 

-I prepared a blog post for one day this week.. including Studio Calico sneaks! :)

-Trav did something entirely too funny not to blog about.  Since meeting him, I've learned that you can use electrical wire to do just about anything.. tie down a ladder onto the truck, hold up the gate on the trailer, etc etc.  This was a first.. 

 

Yes.  That is a dog leash made from electrical wire.  Cassie gnawed through her pretty pink one.. so what did he do?  He took off the clip part and attached some wire.  Not rope.  No.  Wire.  Needless to say.. I have not and will not walk her with it. lol.  That's his job until a new-not-made-of-wire-leash is purchased.
